Hence, it is a Chinese watch brand that offers what you pay for, which not only gives you the components you want, but also gives you a good price.
Starking offers a wide range of mechanical and quartz watches with Chinese and Japanese movements, and some even with sapphire crystal.

✚ Strong watches: origins and history
The origins of Starking watches go back to 1990 when Shenzhen Jieyong Clocks and Watches Co. LTD, the group’s forerunner, came out.
The Starking Watch Group was founded in Shenzhen just two years later and soon became a company of great importance to the Guangdong watch industry.
In 1998, the brand became internationally known through its participation in the Basel watch fair and the Hong Kong fair. From that point on, she began to market her watches outside of China.
At this point, the company already has two watch factories: Yajia Time Industrial Park in Longhua and Starking Technology Park in Shenzhen City.
Although they won’t start making their own movements until 2005, thanks to Shenzhen Jingrui Movement Limited, their mechanism subsidiary, where they make a wide variety of mechanical calibers, quartz, and even tourbillions.
Currently, the company exports its watches to more than 30 countries in America, Europe and the Middle East, and has more than 300 physical stores in various Chinese cities.
✚ Are Starking Watches Good?
As mentioned at the beginning, Starking makes its watches with a wide variety of components, although the cheaper models are reasonably acceptable in quality.
The materials that are used in Starking watches, considering the best or most desirable options, are the following:
- Box: Most use stainless steel, even the cheapest models, which is unusual for Chinese watches at this price point. Steel is a durable and resilient material, but most importantly, hypoallergenic, which is very important when it comes to a device that is in constant contact with the skin.
- Cristal: Starking uses sapphire crystal in its most expensive models and hardened mineral crystal in its cheapest. Both materials offer good visibility, but sapphire is always harder to scratch.
- Correa: Made of stainless steel or synthetic leather, depending on the model, although steel is always the best option due to the properties already mentioned.
- Move: This brand uses its own mechanisms on the cheapest models and Miyota on the more expensive ones, a much more reliable Japanese movement and therefore a better choice.
- The presentation: All Starking watches usually come with their box, and some may even come with an extra accessory like a replacement strap or bracelet.
In short, we can conclude that Starking watches are qualitatively above average, both in their affordable models and those with a higher price.
The designs with Miyota caliber and sapphire crystal, two properties that add a lot of value, are particularly characterized by their quality / price ratio.
✚ Best Starking watches
Below are some of the best Starking watches for men and women, all of which are mechanical constructions using Japanese Miyota calibers in stainless steel and sapphire.
➤ Starking AM0171
Because of its low cost, the AM0171 is a great option if you want a good mechanical watch with a Miyota 8215 movement.
It is also made of stainless steel and has a sapphire crystal on the dial. The case back is also transparent and allows you to see the mechanism in operation.

With a diameter of only 32 mm and a thickness of 12 mm, the AL0190 is an ideal watch for the thinnest wrists.
The materials in this case are also stainless steel, both for the case and bracelet, and sapphire crystal on the dial.

✚ Price and opinions
Currently, Starking is one of the top rated Chinese brands, which is understandable given that they have good components at very reasonable prices.
The combination of stainless steel and Japanese movement is a success and this is reflected in the opinions these watches receive.
In short, little more can be asked for so little money. And you? Have you already tried this brand? Share your experience in the comments.
